Buying a New PC is Dangerous!

Okay - great Holiday Specials were to be found for PCs.
So we bought a Dell Server, 2.4 gig chip, 80 gig HD, CD-burner, 17" flat display monitor (will add more RAM later from Crucial - at about half the cost of Dell's RAM.)
So Santa's helper, the UPS delivery man, drops off the new box. Here's what we did, in what order, to make it work better, and securely.
1. Unpacked the boxes, checked for damage (none, thankfuly - the guys and gals at Dell, we think, are the best packaging experts in the world, bar none).
2. Unpacked the keyboard, mouse (or Moose, as we like to say,) monitor, speakers, and PC, and took off all the plastic wrap and twisty-thingees.
3. Put all the CDs (we counted 9), in the "inbox", in case we need them later.
4. Connected all the color-coded cables as required.
5. Sat back, and thought, "do we have it all covered?" Decided, "yes", we do.
6. Turned on the power to the monitor, then turned on the power to the PC.
7. Went through the Dell Start-up questions, and online registration.
8. Right-clicked on "Start", "Properties", and selected "Classic," (so it looks like, almost, W2K).
9. Then went to Control Panel, and uninstalled MacAfee (we immediately noticed, in our opinion, about a 10x improvement in processing speed.)
10. Went to www.CA.com, to download and install the trial version of Inoculate-It, and then set it up properly.
11. Deleted various shortcuts and folders hyping stuff we didn't need (like a free dial-up trial, cluttering our desktop, when we already have cable modem installed and working.)
12. Then, hit the Windows Update site, to install (we counted), 21 critical patches for the OS and MS programs.
Wow, we're having some fun now!
