FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Computer group will present identity theft prevention strategies.

"Identity Theft in the Lehigh Valley" by Matthew Toczek will be the subject of the featured presentation of the MacPower computer group on Tuesday, September 13, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held in the private dining room of NewSeasons, 1263 South Cedar Crest Boulevard, Allentown. Toczek is a security agent of Netforcement, a Conshohocken-based company which provides internet security services.

Citing a report compiled by the Federal Trade Commission, Toczek noted that "Of the Pennsylvania cities with the greatest number of of identity theft victims, Allentown ranks number three. Despite that identity theft is one of the fastest-growing crimes worldwide, surprisingly few individuals are fully aware of what it is, its financial and emotional consequences, and how to guard against it."

MacPower monthly meetings are free and open to all interested persons. Light refreshments will be available. For more information about MacPower and meeting site directions, telephone (610) 967-2020 or e-mail macpower@ptd.net, or visit the MacPower web site at http://www.hometown.aol.com/ugwhizz
