Computer group will present identity theft prevention strategies.
"Identity Theft in the Lehigh Valley" by Matthew Toczek will be the subject of the featured presentation of the MacPower computer group on Tuesday, September 13, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held in the private dining room of NewSeasons, 1263 South Cedar Crest Boulevard, Allentown. Toczek is a security agent of Netforcement, a
Conshohocken-based company which provides internet security services.
Citing a report compiled by the Federal Trade Commission, Toczek noted that "Of the Pennsylvania cities with the
greatest number of of identity theft victims, Allentown ranks number three. Despite that identity theft is one of the
fastest-growing crimes worldwide, surprisingly few individuals are fully aware of what it is, its financial and emotional consequences, and how to guard against it."
